Previous station generations
Hardware documentation, maintenance guides, and support resources for earlier WeatherXM station models.
WeatherXM WS1000 (M5 Core Gateway)
The initial generation developer station featuring an M5Stack Core indoor display gateway with touch screen readout and outdoor RF (GFSK) sensor suite. The LoRa radio module was switched to GFSK to receive local telemetry from the outdoor sensor array, while a custom daughterboard housed the barometric pressure sensor, an ATECC608 cryptographic chip for signing sensor data packets, and a u-blox GPS module (requiring the external GPS antenna to be placed near a window for satellite lock).
- M5Stack Core ESP32 indoor display gateway with touch screen UI
- Custom daughterboard with barometric sensor, u-blox GPS & ATECC608 secure element
- RF radio switched to GFSK for local outdoor sensor array reception
- Cryptographic data signing at the gateway before Wi-Fi uplink
WeatherXM WS2000 (Helium Gen 1)
An early pioneering all-in-one meteorological station communicating directly over LoRaWAN. Commissioned to Seeed Studio for manufacturing under an agreement (and subsequently released commercially by Seeed Studio as the SenseCAP S2010 / S2100 series). Built on the Semtech LR1110 transceiver with onboard GNSS and cryptographic security, the WS2000 was later succeeded by the WS2001 (H2)—which shares practically the identical station architecture, PCB, and firmware, while upgrading to a refined temperature/humidity/pressure sensor package and mechanical improvements to the wind sensor plastics.
- All-in-one LoRaWAN weather station communicating with Helium hotspots and TTN gateways
- Semtech LR1110 transceiver with integrated GNSS and cryptographic security
- Commissioned to Seeed Studio for manufacturing (commercialized as SenseCAP S2010)
- Architectural predecessor to WS2001 (H2) with identical core PCB and firmware foundation
